The judges said – “A unique and intuitive user experience using real-time artificial intelligence not only within this app but to make other apps accessible and inclusive.”
Seeing AI is a free app that narrates the visual world for the blind and low vision community. This ongoing research project from Microsoft harnesses advances in artificial intelligence and computer vision to describe nearby people, text, handwriting, currency, color, products and objects with spoken audio. Much like a Swiss Army knife, this app provides several tools in one app by leveraging the power of on-device and on-cloud deep learning to open many “first time in life” scenarios. Since its launch in July 2017, Seeing AI has been used to perform more than 3 million tasks unassisted. For more information, visit http://www.SeeingAI.com
